Do I need an updated COVID-19 vaccine?

 The U.S. CDC recommends that everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.  If you haven’t been vaccinated since the latest vaccine came out in August 2024, you should get vaccinated.

When should I get vaccinated for the flu and COVID-19?

We recommend getting your COVID-19 and flu vaccines at the same time. Illness from these viruses can be prevented by vaccines. Getting vaccinated will protect you and your family from becoming sick from one of these viruses and missing out on school, work, and activities you enjoy.  

Do I need to wait after getting a flu vaccine before getting a COVID-19 vaccine?

No, you don’t have to wait. You can get a COVID-19 vaccine and a flu vaccine at the same visit. That’s why we say Go for Two!

If I already had COVID-19 and recovered, do I still need to get a COVID-19 vaccine?

You can choose to wait up to 90 days after getting COVID-19 to get a COVID-19 vaccine because your immune system should have a strengthened immune response, but you don’t have to wait. As long as you are not testing positive and don’t have symptoms, you can choose to get the vaccine right away.

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine after you recover from COVID-19 infection provides added protection against COVID-19.

Why should I get vaccinated if I might get COVID-19 anyway?

COVID-19 vaccines are extremely effective at  preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death. Compared to people who are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations, unvaccinated people are more likely to get COVID-19 and suffer more severe impacts from the illness.The COVID-19 vaccine is also shown to be helpful in preventing long-COVID.
